On the other side of the price curve is Roomba 890. Undoubtedly, the 890 is more expensive than the Roomba 690. However, it comes with several bells and whistles to justify the premium price. Similar to its counterpart, the Roomba 890 has convenient voice control and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Furthermore, the 890 is more efficient when it comes to cleaning. In particular, it boasts advanced dual brush rolls, HEPA filtration, and memory mapping.

The Comparison Between Roomba 890 and 690
Design
The design of Roomba 890 and 690 is pretty basic. Both of them have the same types of buttons to control the device. However, at the center of 690 is a button that starts the auto-clean.
You can use the iRobot home app to program the cleaning schedule on 690. The four buttons on both devices include the auto clean/ settings, bumper, handle and finally, the bin release.
The usability of both vacuum cleaners is quite good. They both have Wi-Fi connectivity and an iRobot home app.
Installing the brushes and using the devices for the first time is not difficult.
However, with 890, you may need to register the app and take a few minutes to install it. Installing the app in 690 is optional. You can just press the ‘clean’ button, and the device starts cleaning right away.
Cleaning
The cleaning action between 690 and 890 is entirely different. In 690, the side brushes push the debris into the path of the central brush. In contrast, the 890 uses dual brushes that prevent tangling.
The advanced brush roll on 890 is quite useful in dealing with pet hair. It prevents tangling and picks up dog hair effortlessly. Head-to-head, 890 is far better than 690 when it comes to cleaning pet hair.
